Pastor, when are we going to be together again?

I know. I’m feeling it too. It has been a long time since we have had the opportunity to gather and celebrate as a community. We miss our friends, we miss the hugs, the smiles, and we yearn for the day to feel the energy of God’s people rejoicing in one song of praise.

The short answer is this: It will be quite some time until we can open the doors and let all who want to come inside the sanctuary for worship, fellowship, music, and communion.

A longer answer: Unfortunately, full in-person worship is still and will continue to be a very high-risk situation until we can confidently say this pandemic is behind us. In the meantime, there are many ways we are going to keep our community connected and engaged.

Here are some things we are up to (more details on these opportunities will be communicated later):

  • Online worship: Premiers every Sunday at 9:30 am & Wednesday at 6:00 pm and is available any time after on our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/c/FaithLutheranJanesville
  •  Drive-in worship: August 9 @ 9:30 {see the Events tab for more info}
  • Small Groups: We are in the process of developing some safe options for small groups to meet here at the church and some are still meeting virtually.
  • Sunday Worship viewing: With appropriate safety measures, a small number of people will have the opportunity to view online worship in the sanctuary.
  • Care Walks: Call the church to set up a time to take a walk with me. I can meet you at your home or we can walk the church neighborhood. 608.754.0261
  • One-on-one virtual meetings: Send me a message and we can set up a time to talk online or on the phone.
  • Reaching out in love: We are continuing to reach out to the community in love. There may be ways for you to participate from time to time.

Yes, our community functions differently for now, but I can safely and confidently say we are still, “People of God, Empowered through Word and Sacrament, Reaching out in love.” -Pastor Felix
